Topic ‘Marriage’
* PD (describing stages of a process).
Purpose: to give some directions to a young couple describing the way the wedding ceremony should be held, as if you are a registry office instructor.
Object: the parts of wedding ceremony.
•SD (describing a person, a place, a scene, a landscape, etc.)
Purpose: to describe the appearence of just married couple in front of the registry office.
Object: the scene concerned.
* N (narrating about past events which happened in some order).
Purpose: to narrate about some events which happened to your neighbours, friends, relatives before, during or after the wedding ceremony.
Object: the order of the events concerned.
* RA (proving/ disproving ideas given as theses).
Purpose: to find arguments and prove that marriage is an important thing/ nonsense.
Object: the problem concerned.
* RD (making conclusions on information analysis basis)
Purpose: to analyse facts that you know and to make conclusions if marriage is important.
Object: the guestion concerned.What is your opinion? Is any of the speech type examples given above enough for writing a good, complete composition on the topic chosen? Why? Think of some examples of purpose - object combinations due to the items given below on the basis of ‘Marriage’.

11.Think of some speech type combinations to make your future composition more complete.
e.g.: RA+N (to prove that people should/ shouldn’t marry retelling about a case you know as an argument).
Discuss your ideas for future compositions in pairs and say what topic, speech types and purposes are chosen by your collegue.
